Conformity assessment
The process of demonstrating that a high-risk AI system meets the AI Act's requirements before it is used.
Under the EU AI Act, conformity assessment is the process of demonstrating whether the requirements for a high-risk AI system have been fulfilled. For most high-risk uses listed in Annex III, including credit scoring, the Act provides for assessment based on the provider's internal control, while some biometric systems may need a notified body. A substantial modification after the assessment requires a new one, which is why changes to a high-risk agent must be controlled.
