AI literacy
The skills, knowledge and understanding needed to deploy AI in an informed way and to be aware of its risks.
The EU AI Act defines AI literacy as the skills, knowledge and understanding that allow providers, deployers and affected persons to make an informed deployment of AI systems and to gain awareness of the opportunities and risks of AI and the harm it can cause. The Act's original Article on AI literacy required providers and deployers to take measures to ensure a sufficient level of it among their staff and others operating AI on their behalf. The AI Omnibus amended that provision, so the current obligation should be read from the consolidated text.
