AI transparency obligation
The AI Act duty to tell people they are interacting with an AI system, and to mark certain AI-generated content.
The EU AI Act's transparency obligations require providers to design AI systems that interact directly with people so that those people are informed they are interacting with an AI system, unless that is obvious from the context, and require certain generated content to be marked as artificially generated. Deployers have further disclosure duties, for example for deep fakes. For customer-facing financial agents, this means a clear disclosure that the customer is dealing with an AI agent, not a person.
