EU AI Act
The EU regulation that sets risk-based rules for AI systems and general-purpose AI models placed on the EU market.
The EU AI Act is the European Union regulation that sets harmonised, risk-based rules for AI systems and general-purpose AI models placed on the market or used in the Union. It bans a short list of practices, sets requirements for high-risk systems, imposes transparency duties on certain systems and sets obligations for general-purpose model providers. Its rules apply in stages, and the AI Omnibus amended the timeline for high-risk systems, so dates should be read from the Commission's current page.
