Deployer (AI Act)
Under the AI Act, a person or organisation using an AI system under its authority, outside purely personal use.
Under the EU AI Act, a deployer is a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body using an AI system under its authority, except where the system is used in a personal, non-professional activity. A bank that uses a vendor's credit-scoring agent is a deployer. Deployers of high-risk systems must use them according to the instructions, assign competent human oversight, monitor operation, keep the logs under their control and inform people affected by decisions, among other duties.
