Automatic logging
Built-in recording of events while a high-risk AI system runs, so its operation can be traced afterwards.
The EU AI Act requires high-risk AI systems to technically allow the automatic recording of events, or logs, over their lifetime, to ensure a level of traceability appropriate to their intended purpose. Logs must support identifying situations that may present a risk or lead to a substantial modification, post-market monitoring and the monitoring of operation by deployers, who must keep the logs under their control for a set minimum period. Logging is a design requirement for the provider, not something a deployer can add afterwards.
