A2A task
The fundamental unit of work in A2A, with a unique ID and a defined lifecycle of states.
In the Agent2Agent protocol, a task is the fundamental unit of work that a remote agent manages, identified by a unique ID and progressing through a defined lifecycle of states. A task can pause to ask for more input, and it produces artifacts as its outputs. Because each task has an identity and a history, it is a natural anchor for linking an agent's work to the mandate that authorised it and to the evidence it produced.
