# High-risk AI system

> An AI system the EU AI Act classes as high-risk, such as credit scoring, which must meet strict requirements.

A high-risk AI system is one that the EU AI Act classifies as posing significant risk to health, safety or fundamental rights, either as a safety component of a regulated product or because it is used in an area listed in Annex III. In finance, the listed uses include evaluating the creditworthiness of natural persons or establishing their credit score, except for detecting financial fraud, and risk assessment and pricing for life and health insurance. Such systems must meet requirements on risk management, data, logging, documentation, transparency, human oversight, accuracy and security.
